Kompass
Kompass Remediation Tracker

Take every finding to closure, and show the evidence that proves it

Findings from supervisors, auditors and reviews, each with a root cause, an agreed plan, owners and dates, evidence and independent validation. A board view shows what is on track and what needs a decision. Start free in your browser, or talk to us about the hosted team edition.

Findings

Record each finding with its source, reference, severity, theme and accountable executive, and the date committed to the supervisor. Import a list from a spreadsheet.

Actions and evidence

Break the plan into actions with owners and due dates. Attach evidence to each action and have it reviewed and accepted. Date changes after the plan is agreed need a reason.

Board status view

Red, amber and green for every open finding, by clear rules you can see. Overdue actions, upcoming commitments and slipped dates in one place, ready to print.

From finding to closure

This is the way Kompass runs regulatory remediation: root cause analysis, a plan with prioritized actions, owners and milestones, implementation, independent validation, and evidence for closure with the supervisor. The tracker enforces the discipline: a finding cannot move on until the steps before it are done.

  1. OpenRecord the finding: source, severity, theme, accountable executive, and any date committed to the supervisor.
  2. Root cause analysisFind out why it happened, not just what went wrong.
  3. Plan agreedNeeds the root cause, at least one action with an owner and date, who approved the plan, and the commitment date for supervisor findings.
  4. In remediationActions are tracked. A due date that moves after the plan is agreed needs a reason, and the moves are counted.
  5. Awaiting validationEvery action is complete, or cancelled with a reason.
  6. Evidence submittedEvidence is accepted for every action, independent validation has passed where it is required, and submission to the supervisor is recorded.
  7. ClosedClosure is approved, and for supervisor findings the supervisor's confirmation is recorded.

How we handle your data

  • In the local edition everything you enter stays in your browser on your device. Kompass does not receive it.
  • We ask for your work email once, so we can follow up. That is the only thing we receive.
  • Clearing your browser data deletes the local tracker. Export a backup regularly.
  • Do not enter passwords, keys or customer data. Keep evidence in your own systems and link to it.

Questions

Does this replace a governance, risk and compliance platform?

No. It is a focused tracker for remediation. If you already have a platform, it can work alongside it.

Does using it satisfy a supervisor?

No tool does. It helps you run and evidence your own remediation. What a supervisor accepts depends on the findings, the quality of the work and your discussions with them.

Can Kompass help with the remediation itself?

Yes. See our regulatory remediation services, and our free regulator visit readiness checklist.
